DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

Naomi is a different kind of horror film. It owes more to the films of Ingmar Bergman than to the novels of Stephen King. The film is thought provoking instead of gratuitous. It focuses on the tragedy of one lost soul instead of a growing body count. The film is challenging yet frightening, perplexing yet haunting, heartbreaking yet disturbing - a true art house horror flick.

Naomi examines many difficult themes including loneliness, death, redemption, and the afterlife. In between the scares, the audience has many questions to answer, and the film leaves the conclusion up to the individual. Every interpretation has its own merit. Naomi is scary, sad, and ultimately uplifting, a mystery that the audience members can solve, each in their own way.
